In November 2025, B8 of Hope welcomed Naji Abbas of Physicians for Human Rights Israel to its Geneva workspace. Naji leads the organization’s Prisoners and Detainees Department and was in Geneva to present a shadow report to the United Nations Committee Against Torture.
The visit created an opportunity to learn more about this important dimension of PHRI’s work. Through humanitarian action and policy advocacy, the organization defends the right to health and works for equal access to healthcare for vulnerable communities in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.
As a contributing funder of There Is Another Way, a documentary following B8 of Hope grantee Combatants for Peace, B8 of Hope joined its FIFDH screenings and helped bring the movement’s commitment to nonviolence before Geneva audiences.
An interview on RTS introduced a wider Swiss audience to Mehra Rimer’s journey, the story behind B8 of Hope, and the Palestinian and Israeli civil society movements working beyond violence and division.
Three co-founders of our grantee EMDR4Peace led a workshop at FIFDH exploring individual and collective trauma—and how therapeutic practice can create space for dialogue across deeply divided communities.
