Building Peace from Switzerland

Warriors for Peace at the International School of Geneva

B8 of Hope had the privilege of welcoming French filmmaker and activist Hanna Assouline to the International School of Geneva for a screening of Guerrières de la Paix (Warriors for Peace).

Following the film, Hanna and Mehra Rimer joined Year 13 students for a lively Q&A. Together, they explored the film’s message of peace and dialogue and reflected on why it remains so relevant in a period marked by deepening violence and polarization.

Encounters like this are one of the reasons we believe so strongly in bringing filmmakers and activists directly into schools. A film can introduce students to people and experiences far removed from their own lives; the conversation that follows allows them to question, respond, and engage more personally. On this occasion, the students were able to meet the woman behind the film and hear why she continues to use storytelling to challenge division and keep the possibility of peace visible.
